Natural Honey & Onion Cough Syrup Recipe

This Honey-Onion Cough Syrup recipe is simple and tastes surprisingly good, even my kids like it!

Onions possess phytochemicals that enhance the function of Vitamin C and also quercetin, known for its anti inflammatory and anti cancer activity. Honey is a time revered healing food. Used by ancient civilizations to support healthy glucogen levels when convalescing; it also offers antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant properties. It can soothe an irritated throat and ease even a persistent cough.

You could also add some Garlic or Ginger to this recipe to increase immune system support and soothe the mucosal surfaces of the gut.

 

Ingredients:

1 organic onion (red or brown)

Raw organic honey

 

Method:

Dice the onion and place into a glass jar with a lid.

Pour the honey over the onion until completely covered and secure lid. Set the jar aside overnight or for 6-8 hours. 

The mixture can be kept for a maximum of 2 days.

 

Recommended Dose:

Take 1 tablespoon, up to 6 times daily for relief of coughing.
