Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is a therapeutic deep tissue
massage that can treat specific health issues,
musculoskeletal problems and injuries.
Remedial Massage provides a healing treatment that
can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. It
provides wonderful relaxation if you are stressed
and soothes sore, tired muscles and also promotes
general well-being.
Remedial Massage is a holistic treatment and
involves the use of massage and a wide range of
diagnostic techniques to treat a condition.
The therapy also helps to get the blood flowing to
injured tissues to speed up the repair process.
Quality natural massage carrier oils are used, to
which suitable essentials oils are added.
Essentials oils contain unique natural properties
which enhance the desired benefits to clients.
Massage sessions usually take 30 minutes to an hour,
depending on whether the practitioner addresses a
specific area or gives a whole body massage.

Lymphatic Drainage
What
is the lymphatic system?
The
lymphatic system is made up of lymph vessels and
nodes, thymus gland, tonsils and spleen, with the
spleen being the largest of all the lymphatic
tissue. This system is a network of tubing
that drains waste products from tissues, produces
disease-fighting white blood cells (lymphocytes) and
antibodies, and carries the bulk of the body's waste
from the cells to the elimination organs.
The lymphatic system is a
secondary circulatory system because it assists the
bloodstream in collecting tissue fluid not needed by
the capillaries or skin and returns it to the heart
for recirculation.
Your lymphatic system is also
vital in your body's immune defences as special
filtering lymph nodes along the lymph ducts remove
infective organisms.
Signs of lymphatic congestion
- Constant fatigue
- Low immune response with frequent colds
- Multiple stress reactions
- Body looks soft and pudgy or has noticeable
cellulite
- Lymph node areas feel lumpy, swollen or sore
- Extremities (fingers/ankles/knees) swell at
certain times during the night
Causes of lymphatic congestion
- Nutrient deficiency
- Lack of physical exercise
- Chronic stress situations
- Multiple drug interactions
Improving lymphatic health
Cleansing Detox:
Undertake a lymph-draining cleanse under the
guidance of your naturopath. This will
include certain foods, juices and supplements
for removing sluggish lymph. At your
appointment ask our naturopath about an
intestinal cleanse to remove build-up of waste
products.
Massage Therapy:
Regular Lymphatic Drainage helps remove toxic
congestion in and around the lymphatic system.
Our massage therapist can incorporate lymphatic
drainage techniques in your treatment.
